WhatsApp releases a new interface for the lock screen view: everything you need to know
WhatsApp, one of the most popular instant messaging apps around the world, is constantly looking for new ways to improve its interface and enhance the user experience. Now, according to a new report, the Meta-owned platform is releasing a new user interface for the lock screen view.
“Recently, WhatsApp released a redesigned sidebar for the native macOS app and an improved media selector with a bottom toolbar, and it looks like the company isn’t done yet. In fact, the latest WhatsApp for iOS 23.8.0.71 available on TestFlight thanks to the beta version, we noticed that WhatsApp will implement a custom screen lock view,” WABetaInfo, a website that follows WhatsApp, reported.
According to the report, the new lock screen view is definitely more intuitive and modern, as the label is now a button and the lock icon has been moved to the top of the screen. Additionally, you can expect a screen lock option for the native macOS app soon due to this redesign.
It’s important to note that some users may experience issues with the new design, as the lock screen view may appear unexpectedly when it shouldn’t. This will surely be fixed in the next updates, WABetaInfo said.
The Meta-owned instant app also aims to bring a new style to the app’s settings, where each part of the app’s settings is displayed with rounded corners and small margins around the edges. This reinforces their commitment to improving the design of the app.
The redesigned lock screen view is available to some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it’s coming to even more people in the coming days.
